On mobile phones when the images are placed one above the other both captions are aligned center.
As can be seen from the examples the images can be left or right and the text block can be below or above the images on screen widths below the break point.

The text area is contained in an HTML5 <article> element and has a heading, text and an optional link.
The link can open internal or external pages and has a new window option.
The item has controls for adjusting the wrapper background and its opacity and controls for adjusting the horizontal spacing from the browser/device window edges and the vertical spacing from the items above and below.
In this example the image captions appear on hover when viewed on computers.
