Keep large images off the page and from slowing page download by inserting them in a lightbox.

The "open" icon at the top right of the image has controls to adjust the color and hover color.

Lightbox Gallery
The gallery can have up to 48 images. These are responsive up to the maximum width of the image file.
The lightbox slideshow has captions derived from the title attribute and a slide counter.
The slides are navigated using the previous/next arrows or grab and drag on computers and by swiping on touch devices.
Options include the ability to style the slide captions.
Images x 2
The images sit side by side on wider browser/ screen widths and stack on screen widths below the break point. The captions are centered at the bottom and can appear on hover when viewed on computers.
Links
The optional link icons appear at the top right of the image and can be turned on for each or both images.
The icons have a control for color and the links open internal pages only.
